Fees

My fees are not based on the price of the property being purchased or sold but some transactions are much more complex than the norm and fees will be quoted accordingly.

Home Purchase

For a standard purchase transaction, the legal fee is $750.00 (plus disbursements) assuming there will also be one institutional mortgage; the fee is reduced if there is no mortgage and there is also a discount applied to the purchase portion of the transaction if the legal work involves both a sale and a purchase.

Home Sale

For a standard sale transaction, the legal fee is $650.00 (plus disbursements); a discount is applied to the sale portion of the transaction if the legal work involves both a sale and a purchase transaction.

Disbursements

Disbursements refer to the out of pocket expenses that are incurred and include such matters as registration costs, title insurance, couriers and search fees for title and various other searches.  The disbursements involved with a purchase are usually substantially more significant than with a sale.  Estimates can be provided upon request.
